How the Mock Draft Creator Works

Build a 2026 NBA Mock Draft in Three Steps

The CourtShare mock draft creator is a free, browser-based tool for building, editing, and sharing a 2026 NBA mock draft. Start with the default 30-pick first round — lottery seeds 1–14 followed by the playoff teams 15–30 — then drag any team to a new slot. The order cascades: drop Sacramento at #15 and every team between picks 5 and 14 shifts up one. Trade-acquired picks are pre-loaded too, so Atlanta shows up at both #7 (via New Orleans) and #15 (their own).

Each pick row holds a player slot. Click an empty slot to focus it, then add prospects from the right-side library — search by name, school, or position. Because the library shares the same prospect database as our big board builder, every freshman, sophomore, and international player who is eligible for the draft is one click away. Already-picked prospects are filtered out automatically, so you can’t accidentally draft the same player twice.

The creator auto-saves every 1.5 seconds while you work. There is no submit button to forget — close the tab and pick up exactly where you left off. When you’re done, hit Publish and the mock becomes a permanent shareable artifact at /mocks/your-mock. Each published mock contributes to the community consensus on the hub page, where every pick slot shows the most-picked player across every mock the community has shipped.

Three entry points seed the initial team order. Start blank gives you the default lottery + alphabetical playoff order to edit freely. Roll lottery generates a fresh lottery order from the official odds and drops you into the editor. Use the simulator takes any sim run from /lottery and carries the seed straight into the mock draft.

The 2026 NBA Draft is on Wednesday, June 25, 2026 in Brooklyn. The mock draft creator is built around that date — when the real lottery is drawn on May 10, the default order updates automatically so every mock you start after that night uses the actual results.

FAQ

Frequently Asked

How do I make an NBA mock draft on CourtShare?
Open the mock draft creator at /mocks, click Start Blank, drag teams to reorder the first round, click an empty pick slot, and add a prospect from the right-side library. Repeat for as many slots as you want, hit Publish, and you have a shareable 2026 NBA mock draft.
Is the mock draft creator free?
Yes. CourtShare's 2026 NBA mock draft creator is free to use. No account is required to read published mocks; you only need to sign in to save and publish your own.
What is the difference between a big board and a mock draft?
A big board ranks prospects 1 through N — your personal ordering of who the best players are, independent of which team they fit. A mock draft predicts which player goes to which team at which pick number, given the actual lottery + playoff seeding. CourtShare lets you build both, and the same prospect database powers them.
When is the 2026 NBA Draft?
Wednesday, June 25, 2026, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The 2026 NBA Draft Lottery is held on May 10, 2026, which determines the order of the top 14 picks and seeds the default mock draft order.
Can I use the lottery simulator with the mock draft creator?
Yes. Run any number of sims at /lottery, then click "Use in Mock Draft" on a sim result to carry that exact lottery order into the creator. The simulator uses the official 2026 NBA odds.
Why does Atlanta appear twice in the mock draft order?
Atlanta has both their own pick and a pick from New Orleans (via trade). The mock draft creator uses real-world team-pick assignments — ATL shows up at #7 (via NO) and #15 (their own), and Oklahoma City has both their own pick and the LAC pick.
Do my picks update when other people publish their mocks?
No — your mock is yours and stays exactly as you publish it. The hub page (/mocks) shows community consensus separately: at every pick slot, the most-frequently-selected player across every published mock. That way you can compare your picks to the wisdom of the crowd without your own picks ever changing.
Can I edit a published mock draft?
Yes. Open your published mock and click Edit to return to the creator. Re-publishing replaces the picks; the share URL stays the same. Drafts auto-save while you work, so you can iterate without losing your place.
